Vacation!

It's been four years since we took a family vacation. Last week we rented a house and hit the Jersey Shore. The house was in northern Jersey, near my old base when I was in the Coast Guard. The water was warm, the waves were perfect and the sand was white. It was also a VERY hot week; great beachin' weather.

Acting on the advice of Gina Marriner I gave them all lots of kisses and hugs, even my 13 year old son who thought I was nuts, and who tried to push me away with a grin. It was a time for long, long walks on the beach with my wife, teaching my son to boogie board and finding shells with my daughter. Now back to work.

    Thanks Gina. The vacation was all the more poignant because my wife's nieces and sister-in-law vacationed with us. We haven't seen them since last year at my brother-in-law's memorial service. He died suddenly last June. Age 42.

    Thanks Ces. Spent the week with Bella and her girls. Fun had by all - except my son was a bit outnumbered. A reversal for him since our house is the neighborhood "Game Stop" and every day we usually have 3 - 6 teenaged boys arguing on the couch.

    Ah I know that "Game Stop" deal. My poor daughter used to be outnumbered by boys but now that they are both teenagers, the girl made up by hosting parties and sleep-overs. Haha! They grow up so fast. I never tire hugging them. Your girl is so pretty!
